Well, if you've been watching the national news you'd be right in thinking the East Riding has ground to a halt in all this snow. "Hundreds trapped by drifting snow..." should really read, "Hundreds ill-prepared for a suddent 20 minute blizzard...". The fact it was cleared up so quickly is an indication of how "bad" it really was!
Interestingly, as you may remember comment earlier in the year about the Hull/Beverley to York rail link, there's been quite a bit in the local press about how this sort of thing wouldn't happen if there was a rail link in place. The Minsters' Rail Campaign keeping up the pressure it seems.
