When art isn't art
There are endless sites on the internet selling Fine Art, or Fine Art Prints. [I won’t link to them because I want to keep real art alive]
It’s all very well, Pierre, doing this sort of thing:
But it isn’t art, it’s decoration. And there's nothing wrong with decoration if that's what you like.
He may very well be a good painter who makes his money by painting like this, fair play to him. He may be able to paint faces, or, on the other hand, he may not and has made a feature of this inability, and also shed-loads of money perhaps. Again fair play to him, but let's be clear about this: IT ISN’T ART- fine or otherwise.

I think you should have a copy of this print handy to show people. Especially anyone who criticises the fact that you paint women's vulvas as part of your paintings. For in your paintings we have a celebration of the physicality of the female body, all parts of it, shown in a real person. In his painting we have Black Woman as Sex Object. Well, she's probably black, but her hair isn't, so she's catering for all tastes really. Perhaps she's White Woman With Tan as Sex Object. She's not real, she's just there to be shagged. I think his shirt-coming-off with bikini and garter are much "ruder" than anything you have painted in your life - I wouldn't say it's erotic, because I don't think (and I know I don't really have the right sexual orientation to tell!) it succeeds in being erotic. It's just a bit smutty. I'd rather see a girlie calendar - it's more honest. When you have any doubts about what you do, have a look at this picture and be certain of what you don't do, hallelujah.
