Oh dear, I don't even know what language this is - Dutch? but zwart could be black, oker - ochre? omber - amber? rouwe - red? So I am guessing the link is paint or colour but no idea who.

yes, Dutch colours
[omber is umber infact, ombergbrandt being burnt umber]
but whose palette?

Vermeer? Really this is even trickier than the hammers. It could be any of many Dutch painters but Vermeer's the first one who springs to mind.

not Vermeer, no
his, slightly older, contemporary

How soon the knowledge is aquired in this Google of an age. I came across this palette following the older contempory clue....
Yellow Ochre
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Cadmium Deeep Red
White
Black
Well not the nine colours in the Dutch list anyhow this chappie was apparently pretty sprezzaturo with his chiaroscuro.. yes you guessed it....Rembrandt Van Rijn.. who studied under Caravaggio.. Hmmmm

Rembrandt, yes.
so that's:
Mr Burnley 2 points
Daphne 1 point
Martin 1 point
Ruth 1 point
and now we move on to round two...
