Do these bricks happen to be of the engineering quality and is it a double course ? In which case you have got your work cut out. PS Have a spare shaft ready for the sledge hammer.

no, not engineering bricks thank goodness, but it is double skin, laid in Belgian Coursing ie: through bricks eight courses [why Belgian, I know not]
