What is it about the soft saturated colours and slightly blurry image of Polaroid photographs that make them so endearing?

Is it the fact that they are each unique? Is it the arbitrary nature of the framing, due to squinty viewfinders?

I think it's all that you have said. And also, because they are so obviously Polaroids, that sets them in a certain time - you don't just see the image, it brings a sense of history too. Blimey, that was hard to explain!
